Description

Fincamigos is a farm located in the stunningly beautiful area of Jardin in the department of Antioquia in the north west of Colombia.

Jardín is one of the most beautiful towns in Colombia, located in the middle of the green mountains of the northwest of the country, with an average temperature of 19°. This beautiful town is home to around 400 species of birds, of which 112 can be seen from Fincamigos, a farm with 12 hectares planted in different varieties of specialty coffees with excellent quality. In Fincamigos, different processes are carried out for each coffee variety, seeking the best cup characteristics with profiles above 85 points, using alternatives like foliar fertilization. The cherries are harvested by local men and
women, who receive training and accompaniment to select only the cherries at their optimum point. Fincamigos produces differentiated coffees of excellent quality with environmental practices to contribute to the conservation and construction of a more sustainable ecosystem.

The farm is located at 1741 - 1950 masl and is 16ha in size with 12ha planted with coffee and is an experimental varietal farm for Cafexport. Some of the varietals planted on the farm are Laurina, Rume Sudan, Tabi and Geisha. The farm has 4 hectares for forest conservation to protect the natural environment. They have also planted 650 native trees and plants.

This lot is fully washed, where after selective picking and washing the coffee is pulped and then dry fermented for 48 hours before then being washed and cleaned again, and dried on raised beds until moisture is at 11%.
