CV. UTEN KUPI is a coffee trading company working out of Central Aceh, right in Gayo country .They've been in business since March 2023 with their focus being coffee grown on the on the Tanoh Gayo plateau at 1,400 to 1,600 meters known for its quality. The team are young and part of the next generation of coffee professionals in the region that are emerging. Thier mission is continue in the improvement of farmer livelihood whilst also looking after the environment in which they are working. The company is based right in the growing area itself, in Pegasing District, Kampung Paya Jeget. They work with producers on around 447 hectares of productive Arabica land, roughly 453,000 kg of export-ready coffee, and enough volume to deliver about 24 containers per year. That's backed by direct relationships with 588 farmers who work with 8 collectors in the region. The farmers grow mainly Tim Tim and Gayo 1 in the region and they deliver coffee to the local collector where the coffee is pulped and fermented for 12 hours. The coffee is then dried to about 40% moisture for 1 day and then wet hulled removing the parchment to then dry the coffee again for another 4 - 5 days until it reaches around 12 % moisture. The coffee is then taken to the dry mill where it passes through a gravity table before being hand sorted twice before being bagged to make ready for export.
