About

This coffee is sourced from Sumatra part of Indonesia, with the classic wet hulled post-harvest process. The locals usually call it as "Giling Basah" process. Classic wet hull in general should project the character of medium to thick body, with chocolate, spices, herbs, but sweet.

Process: Coffee cherries were harvested and pulped right away. Then washed and clean to remains with its mucilage. Then coffees are dried to approx 35% moisture content and hulled; and further dried to 12% moisture content. Usually this process takes approximately 2 weeks.

Alfiner grew up in a coffee family, overcoming the challenges that local farmers experienced while selling their beans. He travelled all over the region, gathering quality coffee cherries from nearby farmers, and then expanded their efforts to 170 smallholder farms. Over time, he had become an integral part of the coffee community in that area. Alfiner operate two mills and improves the livelihoods of the farmers he works with by buying cherries at a premium price.
